Overview
SIRIM QAS International is Malaysia’s national certification body, operating under the purview of MITI. Its product certification scheme covers safety and performance requirements for a wide range of consumer and industrial goods.
The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) administers type approval under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. Any product incorporating a radio transmitter — routers, smart home devices, medical telemetry, industrial IoT — must hold a valid MCMC type approval certificate before it may be imported, sold, or distributed in Malaysia.
