Philippines
Southeast Asia
The Philippines requires product certification under the Bureau of Philippine Standards (BPS) for goods on the Philippine Standard (PS) mandatory list, and type approval from the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) for telecommunications and radio equipment. AECS manages BPS Import Commodity Clearance (ICC) applications, PS licence applications, and NTC type approval registrations, including the local representative requirements applicable to foreign manufacturers.

Regulatory landscape
BPS, under the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), administers the Philippine mandatory certification scheme. Products on the mandatory list — including electrical appliances, toys, building materials, and food contact materials — must hold either a Philippine Standard (PS) mark licence or an Import Commodity Clearance (ICC) before they may be sold.
NTC type approval is required for all terminal equipment connected to public telecommunications networks and any radio communication device used in the Philippines.
