Indonesia
Southeast Asia
Indonesia requires SNI (Standar Nasional Indonesia) certification for a broad and growing list of mandatory product categories, administered by the National Standardization Agency (BSN) and enforced by the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) and Ministry of Trade (Kemendag). Telecommunications and electronic products additionally require DJID type approval from the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi). AECS coordinates in-country laboratory testing, SPPT-SNI certification, and POSTEL registration.

Regulatory landscape
Mandatory SNI certification applies to hundreds of product categories. Importers and local producers must obtain SNI certification from an accredited certification body (LSPro) before products may be sold. Products must also carry the SNI mark on packaging.
Telecom and radio products require separate DJID (Direktorat Jenderal Infrastruktur Digital) type approval, commonly referred to as POSTEL certification. A local Indonesian entity (Importir Terdaftar) is generally required to hold the approval certificate.
Key standards bodies
- BSN — Badan Standardisasi Nasional (national standards body)
- Kemenperin — Ministry of Industry (SNI enforcement)
- Komdigi/DJID — Telecom and radio type approval
